Seven Settlers MS Viewpoints Kiosk | reenactment video | 02:00 each
Central to defining the life and times of Mississippians in the 1500s to 1800s is the Mississippi Viewpoints interactive kiosk at the Old Capitol Museum. Drawing directly from the letters and journals of seven individual settlers, Communication Arts produced studio reenactments of businessman William Cooper, Chickasaw leader Molly Gunn, enslaved West African prince Abd al-Rahman Ibrahima, survey representative William Dunbar, French divorcee Marie Catherine Viconneau, Choctaw chief Alibamon Mingo, and interpreter Simone Favre. Each two-minute video features a narrated introduction and actor in period costume speaking their native language.
