The Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts are presented annually to individuals and organizations that have made significant and lasting contributions to advancing the arts in Mississippi. Communication Arts has been honored to support the Governor’s Awards with media production and staging of the awards ceremony for nearly a decade. We have created short video biographies of award recipients, including B. B. King, Willie Morris, Eudora Welty, and Morgan Freeman. The videos were compiled from images, footage, and audio provided by the Mississippi Arts Commission, sponsor of the awards.
